Inspired by Serving: VBS Director Kerrie Pariso
Kerrie Pariso has been the VBS director here at First Baptist Laurel since 2006. She shares her testimony with us of how God is using this ministry to reach children and how she has been challenged and has grown because she has served:
“I am always amazed when I get involved with Vacation Bible School how God ends up using the program. My prayer is always that young ones will come to know Christ as Lord and Savior through the program, or that they would grow in their relationship with Him if they have already accepted Him. God is always faithful to answer that prayer, allowing me to hear accounts of how children prayed to accept Christ or allowing me to see glimpses of growth in individual kids each year I am involved. But in addition to all that, God uses the program to grow me each year as well (and I am willing to guess He might do the same with other volunteers too!). He has used VBS to humble me, to push me outside of my comfort zone and to challenge me to trust in Him more and to serve Him more willingly. Finally, VBS has been an incredible blessing to me as it has given me the opportunity to fellowship and work with a great group of believers! To God be the glory!”
