#1 MEMBERSHIP MATTERS – Next Class Begins March 5th
The next Membership Matters class will be March 5th – 19th at 9:15 am. This class is for all who are interested in taking the next step of becoming a member of First Baptist Church. In this class, Pastor Brent will explain our church’s vision and mission and what it means to be a committed member of the church. #2 125th ANNIVERSARY UPDATE – SPREAD THE WORD!
We are celebrating our 125th anniversary as a church on April 9th. We want to invite everyone who’s been a part of our church through the years to come back and celebrate with us that day. #3 AFRICAN WORSHIP SERVICE
Sunday, March 5th at 6:00 pm, we’re hosting an African Worship Service. This will be a time of praise, intercession and prayer. The guest speaker that evening will be Remi Badru. Originally from Nigeria he is now serving as a missionary with the North American Mission Board.
SUNDAY EVENING WORSHIP
Join us at 6:00 pm in the Chapel for our Sunday Evening worship service with Pastor Brent.
SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR ALL AGES
Join us at 9:15 am on Sunday morning when we offer a variety of Sunday School small groups. We offer something for every age! Stop at the connections desk for details.
POWER UP FOR GRADES 1 – 5
Children will be directed to meet the group leaders who will escort them to the services during the 10:30 worship service. After service, children will be returned to rejoin their parents. PARENTS: Please stay in the FLC until your child returns. We ask that all children either remain with their parents in service or be escorted to and from children’s services by their leaders.
North American Missions (Annie Armstrong) offering
Our goal is $5,000 in support of the North American Mission Board for mobilizing Southern Baptist missionaries to impact North America with the gospel through evangelism and church planting. The week of prayer for these missionaries starts March 5th.
Children’s Summer Camp Dates at FBCL
Vacation Bible School (VBS). June 19th – 23rd, from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm. For children currently in Kindergarten – 5th grade. VBS is free of charge.
All About Kids Productions (AAKP), performing arts day camp. July 9th – 14th, open to children currently in 1st – 7th grade. Registration will open in March, details and cost will be on-line.
Cards with a list of our service times and activities are available in the foyer kiosk. Use them as a quick and easy way to invite people to FBCL! Your invitation is our best advertising.
SUMMER IN THE SON SUMMER CAMP
Open to children ages 3 through 14 and all current FBSL students K-3 through 8th grade. 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. Preschoolers must be completely potty-trained. For more information and to register go to our website www.fbslaurel.com and click on Summer Camp.
OPEN HOUSE—FIRST BAPTIST SCHOOL
You are cordially invited to attend the Open House at First Baptist School of Laurel. The Open House will be held on Saturday, March 11th,10:00am-12:00pm. SANCTITY OF LIFE SUNDAY
Andrea Capuyan, Executive Director of the Laurel Pregnancy Center, is our guest speaker this Sunday. Andrea will share the latest news from the Center, including how the Lord is working through the staff and volunteers to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the clients. You can support the Center by taking a Baby Bottle, filling it with your loose change, and returning it by the end of March. These funds will make it possible for the Center to provide free services in Jesus’ name.
Child Dedication – Mother’s Day
We will be having a Child Dedication Service in May on Mother’s Day. If you are interested in having a child (of any age) dedicated please contact the church office and ask for Barbara Scott for more details.
