#1: Bible Study Countdown – WEEK TWO

Our 9:15 am children’s and youth Bible Study classes have been on a break this summer. On Sunday, August 6th they will start back up with all the children being promoted to their new classes matching their grade level for the coming school year. Mark this date on your calendar and bring the whole family as we go deeper into the Bible.

#2: Brent’s Books

If you have been reading “The Prodigal Church” by Jared C. Wilson, then please join us this evening at 5 pm in Room B108 for discussion on the first three chapters. The next book discussion will be held on August 20th at 5 pm.

#3: Mission Moment

Frank and Shari are International Mission Board missionaries that First Baptist Church of Laurel supports in prayer and through our offerings. Their ministry focuses on reaching deaf people in West Africa. Through everyday activities they have opportunities to share the “Gospel 5”, which is a way of signing the Greatest News in a few short minutes. They need prayer from us as they seek additional West African countries to expand their ministry. To receive email updates from the mission committee, to learn more about missionaries we support and how you can pray, give, and go, sign up in the ministry corner today. As you leave through the back of this room, the Ministry Corner is located to your right.

Today is a big day for our church as we get to meet Evan who is the candidate for our next Youth Director. He and his wife, Ashleigh, will be here for a meet and greet at 9:05 am in room A 107. After the meet and greet, there will be a Q&A session in the Chapel, followed by a vote of affirmation by all church members who are present. All are invited, especially our youth and their parents.

Bible Study

Join us at 9:15 am on Sunday mornings for our Adult Bible Study small groups. Stop at the connections desk for details. Our children’s 9:15 am Bible Study groups will be breaking for the Summer. They will  resume on August 6th.

Children will be directed to meet the group leaders who will escort them to the services during the 10:30 worship service. After service, children will be returned to rejoin their parents. PARENTS: Please stay in the FLC until your child returns. We ask that all children either remain with their parents in service or be escorted to and from children’s services by their leaders.

Membership Matters

Our next new membership class will begin on Sunday, September 10th. If you are looking to join our church or just want to know more of what we are about please join us at 9:15 am in room B111 (conference room.)

SHARE Food orders for August are due by 12:00 noon on Sunday, AUGUST 13TH. The distribution date will be Saturday, August 26th.
