 #1: Bible Study Countdown – WEEK One

Our 9:15 am children’s and youth Bible Study classes have been on a break this summer. On Sunday, August 6th they will start back up with all the children being promoted to their new classes matching their grade level for the coming school year. Mark this date on your calendar and bring the whole family as we go deeper into the Bible.

#2: Save the Date!

Please mark your calendars and save the date of Sunday, August 27th at 5:00 pm for a special time of recognition for Pastor Tommy for his 16 years of service. Look for more details in the coming weeks.

Bible Study

Join us at 9:15 am on Sunday mornings for our Adult Bible Study small groups. Stop at the connections desk for details. Our children’s 9:15 am Bible Study groups will be breaking for the Summer. They will  resume on August 6th.


Next Sunday, the first Sunday of the month, is designated as Deacons’ Fund Sunday. Please give toward the benevolent fund. The fund is intended primarily to help members of FBCL, and secondly to help residents of the greater Laurel area, with emergency needs.


SHARE Food orders for August are due by 12:00 noon on Sunday, August 13th. The distribution date will be Saturday, August 26th.

All Church Prayer Meeting-

Please join us on Wednesday evening, September 6th from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm for a time of corporate prayer. The prayer meeting will focus on our fall ministries, missions, and discipleship.

Membership Matters

Our next new membership class will begin on Sunday, September 10th. If you are looking to join our church or just want to know more of what we are about please join us at 9:15 am in room B111 (conference room.)

Wednesday Bible Study

We will begin a six week study from Voice of the Martyrs entitled “I Am N”. “I Am N” is a powerful series that takes you into the true stories of Christians living in Muslim countries around the world. The study will begin on September 13th from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

English-As-A-Second-Language Workshop

The two part workshop will be August 19th and August 26th, 9:00 am at FBCL. Designed to equip participants to begin and conduct Literacy Missions Ministry, it provides training and guidelines for witnessing to immigrants and internationals. Know your Old Testament? Who was the “weeping prophet”? Check your answer in the church library (Room B101).
