FBCL TOP 3  September 3, 2017

 #1: Church Wide Prayer Meeting

Please join us on Wednesday evening, September 6th from 6:30pm -7:30 pm for a time of corporate prayer. The prayer meeting will focus on our fall ministries, missions, and discipleship.

#2: Membership Matters

Our next class begins Sunday, September 10th. If you are looking to join our church or want to know more of what we are about please join us at 9:15 am in room B111 (Conference Room.)

#3: Fall series – “Deadly Se7en”

Beginning September 17th we’ll focus our teaching and discipleship on the seven deadly sins. There will be small group studies to go with each message and a daily devotional guide. If you’d like to lead a small group for  “Deadly Se7en” sign up in the foyer today.

BIBLE STUDY FOR ALL AGES

Join us at 9:15 am on Sunday morning when we offer a variety of Bible Study small groups. We offer something for every age! Stop at the connections desk for details.

DEACONS’ FUND

The first Sunday of the month, is designated as Deacons’ Fund Sunday. Please give toward the benevolent fund. The fund is intended primarily to help members of FBCL, and secondly to help residents of the greater Laurel area, with emergency needs.

SHARE FOOD ORDERS

SHARE Food orders for September are due by 12:00 noon Sunday, September 10th. The Distribution date will be Saturday, September 23rd.

Bibles for Kenya!

MBS is preparing for another shipment to send to our brothers and sisters in Mombasa, Kenya. We need your used Bibles, bible related study materials, and biblical literature (adult, teens and children). Please drop off to church office no later than Sunday, September 10th.

Wednesday Night Activities Restart

September 13th, all of our regular Wednesday night activities for children and youth will begin for the fall season: Mission Friends (Preschool ages 2-5), Boys and Girls missions programs (Grades 1-5), Youth Group (Grades 6-12).

“Voice of the Martyrs” Study

We will begin a six week study from Voice of the Martyrs entitled “I Am N”.  “I Am N” is a powerful series that takes you into the true stories of Christians living in Muslim countries around the world. The study will begin on September 13th from 6:30 pm -7:30 pm and will last 6 weeks.

Fall series – “Deadly Se7en”

“Deadly Se7en” begins on September 17th in our morning services. The seven deadly sins were first compiled around the year 600. They are pride, greed, lust, wrath, gluttony, envy, and sloth. There will be a small group study to go along with each message and a daily devotional guide compiled by our staff. We hope that you will plan on attending each week and invite your friends.

POWER UP HELP NEEDED

The Children’s Ministry is looking for energetic volunteers to help lead or assist with PowerUp. Children, 1st – 5th grade, gather for worship, drama, and study each week (except first Sunday, monthly) during the 10:30 am service. Please consider serving in this high-energy, fun-filled,  Jesus centered ministry. We’ll be interviewing folks that express an interest. Contact Donna Klaver with any questions or to set up a time to discuss the position.

Update on Extend-A-Hand
The Clothes Closet will only accept clothes, shoes, bedding, towels/washcloths, and hygiene items. We’re unable to accept furniture. We are no longer accepting food donations. Questions: Jane Mitchell, Missions Committee/Mercy Missions.

EXTEND-A-HAND SCHOOL SUPPLIES

E-A-H is collecting book bags, #2 pencils, blue pens, 24 crayons, 12 colored pencils, sharpeners, glue sticks, pink erasers, washable markers, rulers, children’s scissors, pocket folders, wide-ruled spiral bound & composition notebooks or loose leaf paper. Place items in the Sunday School office.
