 #1 – Deadly Se7en Resources

Today is the mid-way point for the Deadly Se7en sermon series. Each week there are resources on our website to help you dive deeper either by yourself or in a small group. Check out all the Deadly Se7en resources such as study guides and daily devotions on our website at FBCLaurel.com/deadlyseven.

#2 – Upward Basketball and Cheerleading

Registration is ongoing for Upward Basketball and Cheerleading. Children who are in K4 through 7th grade are able to register to play and cheer. This Saturday, October 14th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, players and cheerleaders can come for team evaluations and uniform sizing. The deadline to register for the early-bird price is next week. #3 – Missions Moment

WINTER SHELTER: Winter Shelter is the week after Thanksgiving and it’s coming fast! Here’s the mission’s “Pray, Give, Go” so you and your family can start planning your missionary role:
PRAY for the missionaries and homeless shelter guests who will spend time together each night.
GIVE full-size toiletries and men’s socks.
GO on mission right here by signing up to help serve, feed, and house our guests for the week.

Bible Study FOR ALL AGES

Join us at 9:15 am on Sunday morning when we offer a variety of Bible Study small groups. We offer something for every age! Stop at the connections desk for details.

DEADLY SE7EN” SMALL GROUPS

We’re focusing our teaching and discipleship on the seven deadly sins. There are small group studies to go with each message and a daily devotional guide. Check our website: fbclaurel.com/deadlyseven. It’s not too late to sign up for a small group at the Connections desk!

Preparations for Painting our Doors – Monday, October 9!

The Trustees need your help to prepare our many FLC doors and front doors before they can be painted. We will begin on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct 9, at 9:00 am. Sandpaper and other supplies will be provided but if you have a palm or hand sander, please bring it. Thank you.

OCTOBER SHARE FOOD ORDERS DUE Sunday

The October menu for SHARE Food is available in the foyer kiosk as well as posted on the bulletin boards. The order deadline date is noon Sunday, October 8th.

Children’s Choir Launch

The Children’s Choir will be launching it’s fall season tonight in preparation for Merry Christmas Laurel. Children who are currently in grades 1 – 6 are invited to come learn how we can worship God and encourage each other through music. The Children’s Choir will be meeting on Sundays, from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm in the Choir Room, room A110.

Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Shoebox Ministry
We will again have shoeboxes available for you to take and fill on October 29th. In the mean time, you can be collecting your items, and if you would like to donate some to the Power-Up Packing Party, look for the collection box near the Ministry Corner.

UNITED IN PRAYER – STATE MISSIONS OFFERING

This offering supports local evangelism projects in the Maryland/Delaware area. A prayer guide is available in the foyer kiosk for specific prayer needs focused on local outreach. Use the envelopes in the foyer kiosk or indicate State Missions on your check. We have currently collected:$1,629.

FBSL SPIRIT NIGHT

Come out and support FBSL at our first Spirit Night Thursday, October 12  from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The location is  Chick-Fil-A at Contee Rd, mention FBSL and a portion of your bill will go toward the school.

Know your Old Testament? Which of the 12 tribes of Israel served as priests? Check your answer in the church library (Room B101).

LOST AND FOUND

If you’ve lost  glasses, water bottles or any other item recently, please check our lost and found. Any unclaimed items will be donated to Extend-A-Hand on October 8th (Room B106).

Please make sure that you don’t block the Fire Department driveway as you wait for the light on Van Dusen road while leaving Sunday morning services. Thank You
