FBCL TOP 3  December 3, 2017

 #1 Merry Christmas Laurel – December 10th at 6:00 PM
Sunday, December 10th, we are hosting our annual Christmas concert, Merry Christmas Laurel at 6:00 pm. The concert will feature the music of Sorensen – a piano driven pop duo from right here in Baltimore. Tickets are going fast so don’t wait to get yours. For all the details and to get your free tickets, go to the concert website at MerryChristmasLaurel.com. Those with limited internet access may reserve tickets by calling the church office.


There will be a prayer meeting for Merry Christmas Laurel on December 6th from 7:00 – 7:30 pm. The prayer meeting will be in A107.

#3 Holiday Worship Service Schedules
As we approach the holidays later this month, please be aware of our worship schedule:
– December 24: standard Sunday morning schedule, no changes
– Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6:00 pm
– December 31: modified worship schedule with one service at 10:00 am and no Bible Study
– New Year’s Eve Prayer and Communion Service at 10:30 pm


Join us Sunday night at 6:00 pm as Cirilo Paulo leads our evening service in the Chapel.

Bible Study FOR ALL AGES

Join us at 9:15 am on Sunday morning when we offer a variety of Bible Study small groups. We offer something for every age! Stop at the connections desk for details.


December 3rd begins the week of prayer for international missions. Prayer guides are available in the lobby kiosk. Use the enclosed envelope to make your contribution to help  “Love the Nations” and support ministry around the world.

Diverse City Student Ministry

We welcome students, 6th -12th grade, to join us Sunday mornings from 9:15 am – 10:15 am for a time to discuss deep questions and further their faith. We also welcome you to join us Wednesday nights, from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm in the Student Life Center for a time of fellowship, games, teaching, and small groups. The first Sunday of the month, is designated as Deacons’ Fund Sunday. Please give toward the benevolent fund. The fund is intended primarily to help members of FBCL, and secondly to help residents of the greater Laurel area, with emergency needs.


December SHARE Food orders are due by 12:00 noon Sunday, December 3rd. Distribution date: December 16th.

Chick-Fil-A Cow Calendars:
Chick-Fil-A Cow Calendars will be on sale Sunday, December 10th, in the Ministry Corner after the 8:00 am and 10:30 am services. Calendars are $8.00. This is a First Baptist School fundraiser.


If you’re willing to serve, one Sunday a month (8:15 am – 9:00 am, or 10:45 – 11:30 am), to open doors and greet people in the church lobby area, contact Ray Mock through the church office: 301-725-1688.

Winter Shelter – Thank you from the Missions Committee

Thank you for all of the goods and time provided to support the men and women suffering from homelessness this past week. The men and women felt your love through all of the conversations, meals and support you provided. Thank you!


Starting Point is a class for anyone who wants to move beyond just attending to connecting meaningfully with FBCL. Attending Starting Point will help you understand the role of the local church in your life and what role you can play in the life of a local church. Check our website to register for the next class on January 14th, 2018.

Basic Christian Studies Class – NEW LESSON SERIES

During the Christmas Season we’ll cover: The Need for Christ’s Birth, The Prophecies and Preparations for Christ’s Birth, The Miracle of Christ’s Birth, The Response to Christ’s Birth. If you’re not currently attending an adult Bible study class, join us  at 9:15 am every Sunday in room B110b.
