FBCL TOP 3  December 10, 2017

 #1 – Merry Christmas Laurel is this Sunday night at 6:00 pm
Come back Sunday night for an evening of holiday music for the entire family. Doors open at 5:30 pm for general seating ticket holders. Those without tickets will be able to get a seat at 5:50 pm, as available. The concert starts at 6:00 pm.

#2 – Wednesday Night Programs Christmas Break
All of our Wednesday night programs will be taking a break for the holidays. The last night of activities for this year will be this Wednesday, December 13th. They will all restart on January 10th, including a new six-week Equip Class for parents called Christ-Centered Parenting. Look for more information to come soon.

#3 – First Baptist School Chick-Fil-A Calendars
Representatives from First Baptist School are in the ministry corner this coming Sunday, after the 8:00 am and 10:30 am services, with their annual Chick-Fil-A calendar fundraiser. Support our school by purchasing a calendar that gives you great monthly coupons for free items at Chick-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A Cow Calendars will are $8.00.

Bible Study FOR ALL AGES

Join us at 9:15 am on Sunday morning when we offer a variety of Bible Study small groups. We offer something for every age! Stop at the connections desk for details.

Diverse City Student Ministry

We welcome students, 6th -12th grade, to join us Sunday mornings from 9:15 am – 10:15 am for a time to discuss deep questions and further their faith. We also welcome you to join us Wednesday nights, from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm in the Student Life Center for a time of fellowship, games, teaching, and small groups. Starting Point is a class for anyone who wants to move beyond just attending to connecting meaningfully with FBCL. Attending Starting Point will help you understand the role of the local church in your life and what role you can play in the life of a local church. Check our website to register for the next class on January 14th, 2018.


The trip to see the capital Christmas trees will be December 12th. We will depart from the church at 5:00 pm and return at 9:30 pm. We will eat at Longhorn steakhouse (your own cost) and then go to DC. Open to all. Please sign up through the church office 301-725-1688.


We need a constant presence in the foyer during the 8:00 am and 10:30 am services. If you’re willing to serve, one Sunday a month (8:15 am – 9:00 am, or 10:45 – 11:30 am), to open doors during these times, contact Ray Mock through the church office: 301-725-1688.


The LINUS ministry will not meet on December 18th, 25th or January 1st.


You’re invited to the Open House at First Baptist School of Laurel, Saturday, January 13th, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. There will be a tour of the school, a meet and greet with our principal Mr.Gall, and you’ll learn more about the curriculum. Contact the school office for questions 301-490-1076.

Basic Christian Studies Class – LESSON SERIES

During the Christmas Season we’ll cover: The Need for Christ’s Birth, The Prophecies and Preparations for Christ’s Birth, The Miracle of Christ’s Birth, The Response to Christ’s Birth. If you’re not currently attending an adult Bible study class, join us at 9:15 am every Sunday in room B110b.


The Lottie Moon annual offering goes to support international missions. Use the envelope, available in the Foyer kiosk to make your contributions. Prayer guides are also available. Our goal is $12,000. We have currently collected $1,141.
