HAPPENINGS: Weekly insert in the worship folder
Deadline for information: 12 noon on Tuesday of the week before you want your information to appear.
You get a small paragraph. Include who, what, when & where. Space is limited. Keep it simple & clear. Tell us which dates you want it to appear. Listing may be edited depending on space availability. Even if you have events that are geared to a small group that you contact them all yourself, you never know if visitors might see your activity in Happenings and want to check it out.
WEBSITE: The website generally picks up the information from Happenings. The website is updated weekly. We include announcements and events that might be of interest to the community and visitors. We don’t include phone numbers, e-mail addresses or personal information. We generally don’t create links to other websites.
THE MINISTRY CORNER: Available Sunday mornings. You must book the corner in advance through the office. It’s first come first serve and certain times of the year fill up fast! Reserving the ministry corner means you may also have a worship folder insert and a spot in Happenings and Top 3; Please provide information that you want to appear. (All depending on availability and other church events being promoted).
WORSHIP FOLDER INSERTS: Scheduled in advance through the office. Availability is limited especially at certain times of the year depending on church events. Inserts are half sheets (8 1/2” x 5 1/2 “), 1 or 2 sided. We can help design and produce them if you send us the info. Please allow 2-3 weeks ahead of the insertion date. You can do them yourself, B&W printing can be done by the church office but our production ability is limited: Photographs and screened (halftone) drawings DON’T print well on the copier used. Please send us your flyer 10 days before your insertion date for production. (Quantity: 350-400 depending on time of the year)
BULLETIN BOARD POSTERS: Approved through the office. Size 11” x 17”. We can help design and produce them if you send us the info. Please allow 2-3 weeks ahead of the post date. You can do them yourself, check with the office for formats that we can use. Color is available. Check with the office for details.
MINISTRY FAIR: A yearly event to promote becoming involved in FBCL ministries. Held on a Sunday morning between and after morning worship. You get a 6” table to show – off , promote, & WOW the church family with what your ministry is all about. This is your chance to be creative & shine! Flyers & information can be printed through the office, or you can provide your own. If you plan to use office resources please get info into production as early as possible. Dates for the next Ministry Fair are to be determined.
FALL FESTIVAL: Generally scheduled sometime in the end of October every year. The festival is primarily an outreach event but if outreach is even a small part of your ministry you can reach hundreds of people in the community and share with them, what you do (as well as Present Jesus, Perform Acts of Love and Promote growth in your ministry workers). It’s also a great way for any ministry to attract members who might become involved in this one day event as a helper or volunteer. Start planning now for what kind of booth, game, or activity your ministry might want to sponsor for the Fall Festival.
NEED A ROOM: The church building is available for ministry events. You’ll need to fill out a “Room Reservation” form, available in the Sunday School office or the church office workroom. Room requests can be put into “Sharon Carkhuffs” mailbox in the office workroom. Please include as much information as possible as requested on the form to help us update and correctly schedule events. Please remember, this is a multi use building and reserving rooms is on a first come basis. Room Reservation forms help the office do a better job keeping track of who need what and where they are.

NEED TABLES, TV’s, MICROPHONES, etc: If you need any kind of equipment, or AV needs you must indicate that on the Room Reservation form. The sooner we know what you need the better we can make sure that the equipment is available and in working condition.
NEED TRANSPORTATION: We currently have a van and a bus available for limited use. You’ll need to fill out a “Vehicle Reservation Form” available in the Sunday School office or the church office workroom. You’ll need an approved driver. Gas tank must be filled upon return. There is a check-out and a return procedure.
The office staff is always available to help in any way they can. We can serve you much more efficiently if you help us with the following:
- Inform us about what you’re doing. Let the office staff know about your ministry plans and event details. The goal of the office staff is to be able to field questions and calls that we receive from members and potential visitors. The small details that don’t seem important are often what we get calls about. We appreciate knowing what our ministries are doing.
- Please help us by getting us information in written or e-mail form. We try to remember all the hallway meetings and the things we’re told in passing on Sunday but to make sure the right details get to the right people the best thing is to: fill out forms where applicable or send us an e-mail.
- Room and Vehicle Reservation Forms filled in with as much detail as possible.
- If you see something in need of repair fill out a Work Order Request, available in the Sunday School office or the church office workroom.
- Check Requisitions filled in and submitted in a timely manner.
